Basketball Game Preview: Munroe Bobcats vs. Liberty County Bulldogs

Munroe hasn't had much luck against Liberty County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Munroe Bobcats will challenge the Liberty County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Munroe is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 54-29 margin over Sneads. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Pirates are ranked 645th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Munroe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zelden Chukes, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Chukes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ke'Yun Adger, who earned eight points and three steals.

Munroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Liberty County made easy work of Altha on Monday and carried off a 65-42 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Munroe has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Liberty County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

Munroe was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty County in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, winning 82-74. The rematch might be a little tougher for Munroe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
