5A Region 7 recap November 5, 2013
Southside extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region 7 this week by beating Moody, 34-28. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Panthers.
Columbia lost to Johnson 58-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Terence Humphrey ran for 157 yards in the defeat.
Columbia's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Humphrey chipped in 157 yards.
Humphrey was a passing and rushing force as Michael Pryor's team lost to the Jaguars.
Humphrey was the best running back in the league this week. Donaven Wise also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.
Columbia's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Clarence Leavings has thrown for 949 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Darrion Leslie has 40 catches for 688 yards.
Humphrey has rushed for 968 yards on 161 carries so far this year.
Brewer led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on Priceville.
