1A Nisqually - Division 1 recap November 5, 2013
Cascade Christian added to the longest winning streak in 1A Nisqually - Division 1 this week by beating Charles Wright, 48-14. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Cougars.
Cascade Christian was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Tarriers. Randy Davis' team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Will Harris was a key player and the best on defense this week as Eatonville beat Cedar Park Christian. The 6-foot-0 junior nabbed 1 interception.
Jacob King provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Port Townsend bested Life Christian Academy. He completed 5 passes for 114 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 128 yards.
Matt Cain was the best receiver in the league this week as the Redskins defeated the Eagles. Cain tallied 1 reception for 76 yards. Skyler Coppenrath helped Port Townsend's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 38 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Cougars' Jaelin Goldsmith and Mason Tobeck have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Goldsmith has thrown for 978 yards this season, while Tobeck has 17 catches for 313 yards. Port Townsend's King leads the league in rushing yards with 1,354.
Bellevue Christian took down Chimacum 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kemper McQuaid threw for 91 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 114 yards during the win.
