The Spring Lions won the last time they faced the Eisenhower Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Spring managed a 59-53 victory over Eisenhower. Given Spring's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Eisenhower is ranked 871st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonathon Peterson Jr, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson Jr has scored all season. Tadarius Wade was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Spring has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season. As for Eisenhower, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 6-22 record this season.
Spring will head out on the road to challenge Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Eisenhower will take on Benjamin Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benjamin Davis and Eisenhower are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
