The Fairbury Jeffs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Diller-Odell Griffin at 7:45 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Fairbury focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
Last Friday, Fairbury took a serious blow against Crete, falling 60-23. While losing is never fun, Fairbury can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Crete is ranked 26th).
The losing side was boosted by Blake Starr, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Diller-Odell earned a 37-29 win over Lewiston on Friday. The victory was just what Diller-Odell needed coming off of a 68-30 loss in their prior matchup.
Diller-Odell relied on the efforts of Cooper Morgan, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and four steals, and Zachary Warren, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Fairbury now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Diller-Odell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Tuesday's match is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Fairbury have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Diller-Odell, though, as they've been averaging only 30.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
