Riley Pierce and Curt Huffman provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Newton County Academy. The longest such play in MAIS AA District 2 this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
Leake Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 142 from 173 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rebels climbed the ranks as a result of besting Tri-County Academy 17-7.
Oak Hill Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pierce has thrown for 384 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Huffman has 6 catches for 201 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Canton Academy takes on Leake Academy. The Panthers are in second place, while the Rebels are in fourth place.
Canton Academy took down Central Hinds Academy 28-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
