If The Okoboji Pioneers were feeling good off their 41-19 takedown of the Forest City Indians last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Okoboji had to suffer through a rough 42-7 loss at the hands of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock. Okoboji has struggled against Central Lyon/George-Little Rock recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Central Lyon/George-Little Rock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Vanderzee led the charge by rushing for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 170 yards and a touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Graham Eben, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Okoboji's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Central Lyon/George-Little Rock, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Okoboji does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock will play host again and welcome Roland-Story, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roland-Story is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
