The Clinton Arrows waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 46-41 W over Madison Central. This was payback for Clinton, who suffered a 36-33 loss the last time these two teams met.
Clinton can attribute much of their success to Jatoi Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taelar Felton, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Clinton's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Madison Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will challenge Germantown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Germantown will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Madison Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Murrah at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Murrah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Madison Central is ranked 28th).
