The Douglas County Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 48-14 victory over East Paulding at home. The result was nothing new for Douglas County, who have now won five matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Douglas County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sire Hardaway, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. Another player making a difference was JAMES JOHNSON, who gained 128 total yards and two touchdowns.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camron Jones, who picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jones was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Thomason, who threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
Douglas County's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.3 points per game. As for East Paulding, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will take on Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newnan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Douglas County is ranked seventh). As for East Paulding, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against New Manchester at 7:30 p.m.
