Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greenbrier East). They walked away with a 14-11 win over the Shady Spring Tigers on Thursday. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Tigers on their field since May 2, 2022.
Eli Green made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
