Matthew Ladden was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has become a key player for Trinity: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Ladden was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.
