 Even though they lost, Mullins  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 14  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile,  it was close, but  on Tuesday Dillon Christian sidestepped Marlboro Academy for  an  8-6 win.
  Jackson Outlar made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Outlar has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Outlar was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Joshua Brooks, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI.
 Mullins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Dillon Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record  this season.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal.
