St. Joseph Notre Dame waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the California School for the Deaf Eagles with a sharp 17-1 win. Cassandra Sanchez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
