The ThunderWolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.
Isabella Penbe tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Oxbridge Academy let Riley Lyons and Ila Trueblood run wild. Lyons went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Trueblood went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Trueblood's first of the season.
Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Oxbridge Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Cardinal Newman, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal Newman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Oxbridge Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
