Cassville extended the longest winning streak in Big 8 this week by beating East Newton, 48-6. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Wildcats.
Lamar took down Stockton 70-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Mt. Vernon's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Lasalle threw for 118 yards and Dima Spellman had 52 yards receiving. On the ground Shane Williams chipped in 56 yards. Williams helped Mt. Vernon's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.
Calvin Bremmerkamp made the biggest impact on defense this week as Carl Junction lost to Hillcrest. The junior recorded one fumble.
The Bulldogs' Dustin Satterlee and Matt Magee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Satterlee has thrown for 1508 yards this season, while Magee has 44 catches for 552 yards. Williams from the Mountaineers leads the league in rushing with 1302 yards.
Everett Basham has rushed for 934 yards on 173 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cassville takes on Seneca. David Large's team is in first place, while the Indians are in fourth place.
The Tigers led Big 8 in scoring this week after putting up 70 points on the Tigers.
