They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maple Valley on Wednesday. Calhoun Christian lost against Maple Valley in their previous head to head back in February of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-15 score last time.
Maple Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Wilkes , who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Wilkes has scored at least 25% of Maple Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake McDonald , who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Calhoun Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Maple Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun Christian will take on Jackson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maple Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
