There's no place like home for the Roxana Shells, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They strolled past Staunton with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-29. For Roxana, this counts as revenge for the 44-24 defeat Staunton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Roxana found their leader in underclassman Sean Maberry, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Walleck, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Roxana's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. As for Staunton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxana will take on Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Staunton, they will be playing at home against Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
