Basketball Game Preview: Field Falcons vs. Mogadore Wildcats

Field and Mogadore are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Field Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Mogadore Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Field is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Ravenna 73-37 on Friday. With the Falcons ahead 44-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Delilah Rahe continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. Maddie Jacobs was another key player, going 8 of 19 on her way to 22 points.

Field smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Mogadore entered their tilt with Lake Center Christian on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They breezed by the Tiger to the tune of 64-5. That 59 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Field better keep an eye on Amelia Morris. She was instrumental in Mogadore's win, going 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. Morris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Tompkins, who posted eight points and seven assists.

Field's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Mogadore, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Field didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mogadore in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 45-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Field since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
