The Celeste Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Bland Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Celeste is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Celeste made easy work of North Hopkins and carried off a 9-2 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won 14 matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Madilen Fronterhouse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Morgan Nickell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024. Mya Mainord was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Celeste was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in 13 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bland came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Wolves by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-10.
KK Lopez and Kamryn Wade did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Wade scored a run while going 3-for-4. Makila Watson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Celeste has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bland, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Celeste hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .449. However, it's not like Bland struggles in that department as they've averaged .380. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Celeste's way against Bland when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Celeste made off with a 12-2 victory. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
