The Mount View Golden Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Van Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Mount View came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Webster County by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Golden Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount View saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyrece Hughes, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
Meanwhile, Van fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against WestSide on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Renegades, falling 20-12. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Renegades: they've now lost seven in a row.
Cade Price put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed over his last four contests. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Easton Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Parker Moore was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mount View's record now sits at 9-7-1. As for Van, their record is now 2-19.
Van's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Van, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Mount View's hitters?
Mount View beat Van 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Golden Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
