When it comes to explaining why Hampton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Gilmore. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Gilmore hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Khloe Luebbe was another key contributor, scoring no points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Rebecca Hueske continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nebraska Lutheran, scoring 21 points along with eight steals. Hueske is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Hueske, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Hampton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Nebraska Lutheran, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Hampton will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cross County at 6:00 p.m. Cross County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hampton in Nebraska (Cross County is ranked 15th, while Hampton is ranked 271st). As for Nebraska Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on College View Academy on Thursday. College View Academy's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Nebraska Lutheran's offense will have their work cut out for them.
