The Thomson Bulldogs had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-6 win over Putnam County on the road. The result was nothing new for Thomson, who have now won six games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Thomson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jahkiaus Jones led the charge by throwing for 276 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Kasai Jones did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Thomson's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39 points. As for Putnam County, their loss ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Thomson will take on Glenn Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenn Hills comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Putnam County, they will head out on the road to face off against Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Laney's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games.
