Potlatch has gone 8-2 against Clearwater Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Loggers will venture away from home to face off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clearwater Valley will be up against a hot Potlatch team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Loggers put the hurt on Genesee with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Loggers have won by exactly ten runs.
Maddie Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia Smith was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Larson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.
Potlatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearwater Valley). Everything went their way against Lapwai on Tuesday as they made off with a 28-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.
Like Potlatch, Clearwater Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Sypress Martinez. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Martinez was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evalie Schuster was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Schuster, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Potlatch's record is now 6-2. As for Clearwater Valley, their record now sits at an identical 6-2.
Clearwater Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Potlatch has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Clearwater Valley, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Potlatch's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Potlatch got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Clearwater Valley by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Loggers repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
