Union Academy and North Stanly are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Union Academy Cardinals will welcome the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
On Monday, everything went Union Academy's way against Lee Park Prep as Union Academy made off with a 17-7 win. Fans of the Cardinals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Union Academy got a massive performance out of Taylor Surratt, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Surratt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keilana Burgess, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Surratt wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Union Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while North Stanly put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for West Davidson. North Stanly walked away with a 3-0 victory over West Davidson. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Sophia Crist's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks. Those 16 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, North Stanly saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Speight, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Union Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.1 runs. As for North Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
North Stanly's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Union Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .585. It's a different story for North Stanly, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Union Academy's hitters?
Union Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Union Academy repeat their success, or does North Stanly have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
