 Several Gaels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Sadie Balocca, who  had 16  digs and four  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jordan Tou, who  had seven  digs and 22  assists.
 The  defeat snapped Shelton's winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 4-3 record. As for Guilford, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelton will head out to  face off against Sacred Heart Academy  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Sacred Heart Academy is coming into the  matchup with three straight  victories at home,  so Shelton will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum. As for Guilford, they will hit the road for the first time this season to  challenge  West Haven  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
