After three games on the road, Inspired Vision is heading back home. They will take on the Village Tech Viper Squid at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Inspired Vision posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-54 victory over Gateway Charter Academy. The win was just what Inspired Vision needed coming off of a 91-44 defeat in their prior match.
Inspired Vision's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyree Sheffield, who scored 25 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Sheffield has scored at least a third of Inspired Vision's points. Gabriel Kalala was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Village Tech has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 77-58 win over Gateway Charter Academy last Tuesday.
Village Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacori Cathey led the charge by scoring 24 points along with six steals. Cathey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Gaines, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Inspired Vision's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Village Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Inspired Vision hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.8 points per game. It's a different story for Village Tech, though, as they've been averaging only 53.9 points per game. The only thing between Inspired Vision and another offensive beatdown is Village Tech. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Inspired Vision came up short against Village Tech in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 58-49. Can Inspired Vision avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
