After a string of five wins, the Allendale-Fairfax Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were beaten by Denmark-Olar 54-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Allendale-Fairfax has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denmark-Olar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joy Johnson, who scored 15 points. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ry'Naisha Barnes, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Allendale-Fairfax's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1. As for Denmark-Olar, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Allendale-Fairfax will take on Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whale Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Allendale-Fairfax is ranked 41st). Denmark-Olar won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against White Knoll at 6:30 a.m. on December 29th. White Knoll has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
