It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Providence Christian with points to spare, taking the game 31-14. The win was familiar territory for Trinity Presbyterian who now have three in a row.
Trinity Presbyterian had a senior duo take command as Ross Sanders rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns and Walker Mcclinton threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Sanders is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Trinity Presbyterian's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Marbury and 3-7 Greensboro (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44% over those games). As for Providence Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Trinity Presbyterian will face off against Flomaton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Flomaton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. Providence Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
