The Marshall Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Rosemead, posting a 73-37 victory at home. The win was some much needed relief for Marshall as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cedric Hill was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Bagdo Yetenekyan was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Despite the defeat, Rosemead saw an underclassman step up: Rhys Anderson scored 20 points. That was a full 54.1% of Rosemead's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Rosemead, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Marshall will be playing at home against South El Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rosemead, they will head out on the road to take on Arroyo at 6:31 p.m. on Monday.
