Yorktown gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Ketcham Storm. For the Huskers, this counts as revenge for the 9-5 victory the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
The team relied heavily on Derek Patrissi, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian White, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown will take on Arlington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ketcham, they will venture away from home to face off against Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
