Section 8 Conference V recap October 22, 2013
Port Washington extended the longest winning streak in Section 8 Conference V this week by beating Roslyn, 21-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Vikings.
St. Dominic lost to Jericho 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Long Island Lutheran's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Tristan Etienne chipped in 123 yards.
Etienne was a passing and rushing force as the Crusaders beat Great Neck South.
Etienne was the best running back in the league this week. In 6 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Long Island Lutheran beat the Rebels. Anthony McCoy also contributed to the rushing game with 113 yards on the ground.
The leading receiver in the league this season is McCoy. The Long Island Lutheran star has 8 catches for 110 yards.
As it stands, the Bulldogs are in second, while Great Neck North is in fifth.
