4A Region II District 14 recap September 10, 2013
Sulphur Springs scaled the state rankings by moving to 158 from 351 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region II District 14. The Wildcats were able to make move up by topping Sherman 34-14.
Texas was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in the league. The Tigers beat Arkansas 16-0 earlier in the week.
Pine Tree's dynamic duo of Dalvin Manns and Mason Hays proved to be unstoppable against Center, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Manns threw for 502 yards and 3 touchdowns and Hays had 246 yards receiving. Douglas Morgan helped Pine Tree's passing attack out by catching 12 balls for 164 yards.
The Pirates' dynamic duo of Manns and Hays proved tough for the Roughriders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He was 24-40 with 1 interceptions.
Hays had an awesome week catching the football as Pine Tree bested Center.
Manns put up the best numbers through the air as Derek Fitzhenry's team beat Kevin Goodwin's team.
Mitchell DeYong was the best running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 63 yards as Sulphur Springs bested the Roughriders. Teammate Jaylon Hawkins added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.
Hays was the best wideout in 4A Region II District 14 this week as Pine Tree defeated Center.
Greg Owens' team took down the Bearcats 34-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Larry Pryor threw for 181 yards during the win.
