After each having a week off, the Memorial Day Matadors and the Crisp Academy Wildcats will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Things were looking good for Memorial Day after they put the first points on the board last Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 24-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fullington Academy. Despite 56 more yards than the Trojans, the Matadors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jr Rowland, who threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 50 yards.
Meanwhile, Crisp Academy was beaten by Westwood 46-12 last Friday.
Memorial Day's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Crisp Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.
