The Nickerson Panthers had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-39 walloping at the hands of Buhler. Nickerson has not had much luck with Buhler recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Alex King and Taylor Engelland certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. King scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, while Engelland scored 12 points.
Nickerson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Buhler, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nickerson will take on Hesston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hesston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Buhler, they will be playing at home against Goddard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
