The Lexington Wildcats waltzed into Wednesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Irmo by a score of 47-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lexington also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Izzy Saville, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleya Lytes, who scored 10 points.
Irmo's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Howard, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Howard is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was JaNiyah Stokes, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Lexington's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Irmo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Lexington will be playing in front of their home fans against Midland Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Irmo, they will head out on the road to face off against Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
