Basketball Recap: Adam Waite Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Raiders Win

Earlville won the last time they faced LaMoille and things went their way on Thursday too. The Earlville Red Raiders came out on top against the LaMoille Lions by a score of 45-34.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Earlville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Waite, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Easton Fruit was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

LaMoille lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tyler Billhorn, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 41.2% of LaMoille's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Klein, who scored 12 points and five assists.

Earlville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for LaMoille, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

Earlville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-37 victory against Somonauk on the 7th. As for LaMoille, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-51 win against Alden-Hebron on the 10th.
