St. Catherine's will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Trinity Episcopal extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. Everything went the Titans' way against Saint Gertrude as they made off with an 11-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Titans have posted against the Gators since April 14, 2022.
Brooke Shelton and Cooper Beatty made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Shelton tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Beatty tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Shelton went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Beatty went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Beatty has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ainsley McNeer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Taylor Hamilton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, St. Catherine's rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Like Trinity Episcopal, St. Catherine's also got a great game from a two-way player: Kinnady Branch. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Branch was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Tull, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Izzy Viruet was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
St. Catherine's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .654. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in four consecutive contests.
St. Catherine's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity Episcopal, their record is now 12-5.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Trinity Episcopal hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like St. Catherine's struggles in that department as they've averaged .392. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
