The Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 45-41 W over Highlands. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Garland Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played on January 9th.
It was another big night for Caden Sandlin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Sandlin is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Noah Doddy, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Garland Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garland Christian Academy will take on Wylie Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wylie Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Highlands, they will be playing at home against Alcuin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alcuin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
