The East Islip Redmen managed to keep up with the Kings Park Kingsmen until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. East Islip was the victim of a rough 54-31 defeat at the hands of Kings Park. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Islip in their matchups with Kings Park: they've now lost three in a row.
Kings Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gianna Zawol, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ryan Currier, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
East Islip bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kings Park, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
East Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kings Park will be home for the holidays to greet Cold Spring Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
