Booker T. Washington's loss came despite strong showings from KeAundra Tatum and Tylizea Sanders. Tatum scored eight points along with 17 rebounds, while Sanders scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Tatum has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.
Montgomery Catholic was led to victory by Hannah Smith and Heaven Bailey. Smith scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals, while Bailey scored 13 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Bailey hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joanna Marlow, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Booker T. Washington has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Montgomery Catholic, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.
Booker T. Washington will head out on the road to take on LAMP at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. LAMP is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Montgomery Catholic will take on Bullock County at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Bullock County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Montgomery Catholic is ranked 142nd).
