The biggest upset of the week belonged to La Jolla, who took down 629th ranked Kearny, 34-6. David McColl threw for 53 yards and one touchdown and ran for 24 yards in the win.
The Vikings moved up to 583 from 641 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Western. La Jolla climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Komets 34-6.
Madison's dynamic duo of Kareem Coles and Michael Garner proved tough for Point Loma to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Coles threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns and Garner had 78 yards receiving. Lee Walker helped Madison's passing attack out by catching two balls for 58 yards.
Reid Martin was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 105 yards as Rey Hernandez's team bested the Pointers. Teammate Kenneth Martey added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.
Madison's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warhawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Coles has thrown for 1239 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Walker has 27 catches for 459 yards. Pierre Cormier leads the league in rushing with 1374 yards.
Madison extended the longest winning streak in Western this week by beating Point Loma, 28-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
