On Saturday, Northwood beat Saugus 61-52.
Northwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sidd Raj, who scored 17 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Raj posted two or more blocks. Zaid Yunis was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Northwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Saugus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Northwood is on the road again on Saturday and play against Troy at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Troy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Northwood is ranked 78th). As for Saugus, they will head out on the road to face off against Golden Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
