It was a good run, but the Moody Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Oxford, falling 83-50. Moody was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oxford apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Oxford was led to victory by Shay Montgomery and Xaionna Whitfield. Montgomery dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Whitfield scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Jordyn Mcrae was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Moody's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2. As for Oxford, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Moody and Leeds will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Leeds is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Oxford, they will head out on the road to face off against Huffman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
