Football Recap: Ferriday Piles Up the Points Against Northeast

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ferriday walked away with it. They blew past the Northeast Vikings, posting a 58-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven games by 40 points or more so far this season.

Ferriday's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zylon Alexander led the charge by rushing for 73 yards and two TDs on only five carries, while also catching one touchdown. Desmen Jefferson also helped with two scores in total.

Ferriday's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Marvin Davis: he made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

The win made it two in a row for Ferriday and bumps their season record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Northeast, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Ferriday will square off against East Feliciana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
