Danbury hasn't had much luck against St. Joseph recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hatters will square off against the Cadets at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Danbury 3.2, St. Joseph 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Danbury is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Bridgeport Central a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The Hatters might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Abigail O'Dell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Danbury got a massive performance out of Chloe Trimandilis, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Trimandilis has posted since back in April. Julia Lopez was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Danbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither St. Joseph nor New Canaan made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Cadets had just enough and edged out the Rams 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cadets sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Makena Hawkins was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
St. Joseph's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Danbury, their record now sits at 13-4.
Both Danbury and St. Joseph just can't seem to miss. The Hatters have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Danbury suffered a grim 14-5 defeat to St. Joseph in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Hatters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
