The St. Agnes Aggies will challenge the New Life Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games St. Agnes has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
St. Agnes' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They skirted past St. Paul Central 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Aggies have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Josh Lopez
05/08/25 @ St. Paul Central | 0 |
05/02/25 vs Concordia Academy | 2 |
04/19/25 vs Southwest Christian | 2 |
04/15/25 @ St. Cloud Cathedral | 1 |
The result came thanks to Josh Lopez's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, New Life Academy made easy work of St. Paul Academy-Summit on Thursday and carried off a 14-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Nolan Wold made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Wold was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, New Life Academy got a massive performance out of Gavin McCulloch, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was McCulloch's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Hahn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
New Life Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for St. Agnes, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
St. Agnes couldn't quite finish off New Life Academy in their previous meeting back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Aggies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
