Tryp Neff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Patrick Freeman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Austin Wilson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
Woodland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-7. As for Foyil, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland will head out to face off against Oklahoma Bible at 1:00 p.m. on March 21st. As for Foyil, they will take on Chelsea at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
