The Springville Red Devils were the 60-37 winner over the Wasatch Wasps when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Springville was the victim of a tough 55-30 loss at the hands of Wasatch on Friday. While losing is never fun, Springville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Wasatch is ranked 20th).
Springville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Natalie Florence, who scored 12 points. Florence scored a full 40% of Springville's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Hall, who scored no points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.
Wasatch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fili Liava'a, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and four steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Peyton Behnke, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springville will take on Spanish Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wasatch, they will be playing at home against Corner Canyon at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Corner Canyon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.8 points per game.
