The third road contest was the charm for the Randleman Tigers, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Ledford by a score of 59-50 on Monday. Given Randleman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Ledford is ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Randleman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Greg Price, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cassidy, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and five assists.
Randleman's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Ledford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Randleman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Eastern Randolph knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Randleman likes a good challenge. As for Ledford, they will head out on the road to face off against Forbush at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forbush comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
