It was a good run, but the Pine Hill Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Maxwell 44-40.
Pine Hill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Channing James, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. James has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Baker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Pine Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Maxwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Pine Hill and Cliff will face off at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cliff will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
